What is Souk?

Souks are open-air markets selling everything: spices, carpets, jewelry, leather, ceramics. Found across North Africa and the Middle East. Universal rule: never accept the first price. Counter with 25-30% of the asking price and negotiate from there. The act of haggling is the entertainment, not a hostile transaction. Tea is often offered mid-negotiation.
